"There are no cheap or good cars in the Korean used car market. Even at this very moment, false listings armed with good options, low mileage, no accidents, and cheap prices are luring customers, and the damage caused by them continues to increase day by day. Fraudulent dealers are currently running their business by putting low prices on online advertisements in order to secure hundreds of thousands of won in high margins, while honest dealers are being driven out one by one due to online price competition. For reference, even if you ask them to send registration papers and vehicle performance reports by fax, fraudulent dealers can easily forge them!! If you find a vehicle you like, the best way to deal with false listings is to have sufficient consultation with your assigned car manager and visit after paying a deposit. In particular, dealers with fake listings are reluctant to take deposits, saying that if the customer wants to transfer the deposit, they demand a very high amount or say that even if the customer doesn’t like the car after seeing it, they will never refund it. If they are hesitant to accept a deposit, there must be a reason. If they take a deposit for a car that doesn’t exist, it constitutes fraud, and the dealer and their boss can be criminally reported. That’s why fake listing dealers dislike deposits. If you say you’ll give a deposit and ask them to bring the car, they will say it’s a display vehicle and cannot be driven long distances, legally it’s not allowed. But these days, I've heard there's a trick where they show you a car, take only a deposit, ramble on to waste time, and then switch you to another car --; If you just give me a small deposit, I can drive the car down anywhere in the country for you^^ Most of the people reading this have probably been tricked by fake listings at least once, feeling bitter as they turned away, or ended up paying an extra one or two million won (what they call getting ripped off) compared to the normal selling price and regretted buying the car. Since we're revealing everything, I'll also tell you a few of the tricks. What often happens to customers is that dealers sweet-talk over the phone as if they would even give up their liver, and then call ten or twenty minutes before you arrive saying, 'I test drove the car before you came, and the transmission isn't good, so it seems to be a cheap item. We've sent this car to a repair shop, and we have another perfect car ready, so let's look at that one,' leading you toward another car. This is where the overcharging starts. The price suddenly jumps! Because a perfect car would naturally be more expensive, right? ^^ And these days, the way customers are dealt with has changed, so sometimes the person who answers the phone shows up. They call you saying they’ll sell a 10 million won car for 7 million won, let you take a test drive, and then, when you try to sign the contract, they come up with excuses like the deposit was already received during the test drive, the vehicle can’t be transferred, or it’s a flood-damaged car, and then they try to introduce you to another car. Due to this new scheme, honest dealers are being labeled as unscrupulous for selling a 7 million won car for 10 million won. It's really frustrating to think about where things went wrong. I saw it on TV recently. These days, fake listing dealers spend two or three hours driving around with customers to look at cars, and if the customers don't like any of the cars and decide to leave, they demand 300,000 won as gas money.
