Correction method: By updating the vehicle's engine control module with a new program, even if the signal with the crankshaft sensor is lost due to the metal of the tone wheel falling off, the vehicle's driving signal is received from the camshaft sensor and operates normally.
Target: Vehicles manufactured between (June 18, 2014 - June 4, 2015)
Defect details: Due to poor adhesion of the metal around the tone wheel, the metal may separate from the tone wheel. In this case, the magnetic field signal sent to the crankshaft sensor is cut off, so the crankshaft sensor is unable to transmit the position/speed/rotation direction information of the crankshaft to the engine control module. As a result, the engine control module does not inject fuel, which may result in fuel supply not being possible and the engine not starting or turning off while driving (engine warning light generated).
