Defect details: Due to a software error in the engine control unit of some vehicles, the temperature within the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation system) pipe may rise. Additionally, coolant may leak due to microcracks caused by insufficient durability of the EGR cooler (exhaust gas recirculation cooler). As a result, the temperature inside the EGR pipe increases and coolant leaks due to microcracks. In very rare cases, thermal damage (perforation) of the intake manifold may occur, resulting in a recall.
