Defect details: Recall because there is a possibility of coolant leaking inside the exhaust gas recirculation system cooler, which may limit engine output and cause the engine warning light to come on. In extremely rare cases, the possibility of a thermal incident cannot be ruled out (*If symptoms such as an engine warning light or low coolant warning light come on while driving the vehicle, or there is a decrease in power output or a shaking sound, immediately stop driving the vehicle for safety reasons, get off the vehicle, and return to BMW Mobility. Correction method: OBD (Self-Diagnosis Device) Software Update
*OBD update contents: The addition of diagnostic and preventive functions improves the limits of error detection and switches to safe mode when an abnormality is detected. If an abnormality in the intake manifold is detected or a leak is confirmed, a warning light comes on so that the driver can recognize it.
*Customers who have already received an EGR module replacement among vehicles eligible for the OBD update will receive only an additional OBD update, and customers who have not yet received an EGR module replacement among vehicles eligible for the OBD update will receive an OBD update along with an EGR module replacement.
